"Maybe I would never have been this interested in fashion if I hadn’t played that role for so long and sometimes felt so constrained by being identified with her so much…I mean, I just wasn’t allowed to do anything: wasn’t allowed to cut my hair, put on nail varnish, tan, wear a bra that made my boobs in any way look [larger], have any flesh showing, wear any makeup when I was playing Hermione. I always had to back-comb my hair — ‘She looks too pretty, take down the blush or the mascara, take it off.’ Fashion was my rebellion."

"A Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory."

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the Chamber of Secrets, the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire - JK Rowling
Since I was on a social-networking-site fast last week, I had time to start rereading the Harry Potter series. The first four books were released way back in grade school so it felt like I was reading them for the first time… and I’m falling in love with it all over again. Some issues in the books are much clearer, like Dumbledore’s whole plan and way of thinking. Some things that I ignored the first time I read them warmed up to me, like Neville Longbottom’s character and the difference between Fred and George. But then, of course, some things never change, like my opinion of Sirius and the tears for Cedric Diggory…
Aaaaah, wizards. You did it again.

mliaverage:

I recently started dating a guy with the last name “Black.” Today, my little sister jokingly commented that we should name our kid “Jacob” in honor of Twilight. Silly sister, his name will be “Sirius.” MLIA

So I’m on Omegle conjuring Patronus charms…

…and the first stranger asked me what animal it is. Another stranger challenged me to a duel and asked me if I wanna see his Basilisk. The next one just straight up said Avada Kedavra.

I’m still waiting for someone to point out that I’m using the wrong spell. Expecto Patronus!

Today I had to explain to my roommate why my wireless network is named “Gryffindor Tower.” It’s because I wanted the password to be “Capit Draconis.” Anyone who can guess that deserves to steal my WiFi. MLIA
